Southern Tanzania offers something the Northern Circuit can’t: safaris on foot and by water. In Nyerere National Park, one of the only parks in Africa where both are officially permitted, track wildlife on a guided walking safari with an armed ranger, then glide past hippos and crocodiles on a Rufiji River boat safari — the same wilderness, experienced two completely different ways, alongside classic game drives.
